1310. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the Minister for Training and
Workforce Development:
I refer to training provided at the
Muresk Institute and the reference in the 2015–16 Department of
Training and Workforce Development annual report to —
A diverse range of industry-driven
short courses and skills sets provided through South Regional TAFE and 27 other
public and private training providers.
(1) What courses
have been provided at Muresk through South Regional TAFE in 2016 to date?
(2) In relation
to the working dog training courses used as an accredited module towards a certificate
III in agriculture at Muresk are the drones used in the course supplied by
South Regional TAFE?
(3) If yes to (2) —
(a) how many
drones have been purchased, when were they purchased and what was the cost of
purchasing them; and
(b) in which
other courses provided at or by South Regional TAFE are the drones used and
where are these courses held?
(4) If no to (2), who purchased and
owns the drones?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) They are
low-stress livestock handling, AusChem, operate quad bikes, operate and
maintain chainsaws, paddock to plate, certificate III agricultural skill set,
precision agriculture, and working dog schools.
(2) Yes.
(3) (a) Six
drones were purchased by South Regional TAFE. The drones were purchased early
in 2016 at a cost of around $1 700 each.
(b) The drone was
used for agriculture and surveying courses delivered by South Regional TAFE
across the south west of WA.
(4) Not applicable.
