I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The number of
teachers holding a certificate II qualification does not equate to the number
of teachers qualified to deliver VET. In 2015, to teach VET in schools programs
a teacher must meet the minimum requirements of the standards for registered
training organisations 2015. All staff delivering VET in schools are expected
to meet these standards. Registered training organisations are responsible for
implementing the standards. The Department of Education does not record
information centrally regarding the number of teachers who hold a certificate
II qualification.
(2) A May 2015
survey of all public schools that have years 10, 11 and/or 12 student
enrolments indicated that 1 267 staff were involved in delivery of VET in
schools programs at that time.
(3) Not applicable. Refer to (1).
