(3) Mr Henry John Crause $32,328.00 Mr Crause was an overseas patient admitted to Carnarvon Hospital who died shortly after. The case was discussed by hospital management at the time with every intention to invoice him for services provided and all reasonable steps have been taken to recover the funds. The family here in Australia paid what they were able to, however unable to cover the debt further. Mr Crause was from a country with which Australia has no shared health services agreement with. Mr Matthews then sought direction from the DoH Legal Services Branch. Due to the inability to serve Mr Savage with further documentation or letters, a decision was made to apply to the Minister for Health to have this written off. M Albert $18,505.00 Overseas visitor. Both local and overseas debt recovery agencies have attempted to contact Ms Albert or her Next of Kin with no success to date. S Van Leit $11,775.00 A Buddhist monk who was visiting from overseas.
