(a) Telstra (b) Average per month: 2000/2001 Department of Local Government 2001/2002 976.57 2002/2003 1782.88 As a result of the merger in mid 2001 of the previous Department of Local Government and the Regional Development Division of the Department of Commerce and Trade, as well as the transfer of Westlink from the former Department of Contract and Management Services, the number of FTEs increased from 50 to 100 within the newly formed Department of Local Government and Regional Development. A greater emphasis is now being directed toward providing information and assistance to regional Western Australian towns and communities to ensure that they are fully aware of the various assistance packages that are available within the Department and across Government. This has resulted in an increase in all forms of communication and associated costs. (c) In accordance with the Department’s mobile phone policy, each officer’s mobile phone statement is reviewed on a monthly basis. As a result of the merger in mid 2001 of the previous Department of Local Government and the Regional Development Division of the Department of Commerce and Trade, as well as the transfer of Westlink from the former Department of Contract and Management Services, the number of FTEs increased from 50 to 100 within the newly formed Department of Local Government and Regional Development.
A greater emphasis is now being directed toward providing information and assistance to regional Western Australian towns and communities to ensure that they are fully aware of the various assistance packages that are available within the Department and across Government. This has resulted in an increase in all forms of communication and associated costs.
(c) In accordance with the Department’s mobile phone policy, each officer’s mobile phone statement is reviewed on a monthly basis.
