I refer to the transportation of licensed firearms in Western Australia, and Western Australia Police’s Approved Commercial Carriers policy update, 7 November 2017, and I ask: (a) what is the definition of “locked container” under the policy; (b) is a tautliner motor vehicle considered a locked container; (c) is the boot of a vehicle considered a locked container; (d) is a gun in its own locked case considered a locked container; and (e) who determines what constitutes a locked container is, if there is no formal definition via policy or regulation?
