Deer cull
852. Hon Phil Twiss to
the Minister for Agriculture and Food:
I refer again to the
ABC online news article of 5 September 2025 titled "Recreational shooter
questions practices of southern WA aerial deer cull".
(1) What was the total cost of engaging
professional aerial shooters for the July and August deer culls in the
Esperance and Harvey regions?
(2) Has the cost of aerial culling compared with ground-based
culling using professional or recreational shooters been considered?
(3) Were licensed recreational shooters considered
to participate in the recent culls?
(4) If yes to (3), which organisations?
(5) If no to (3), why not?
