I refer to the Minister Assisting the Minister's answer to a question in Legislative Assembly Estimates, in which it was said that "Anecdotally, Main Roads Western Australia has told us that instances of dangerous driving, down the edges of the freeways in particular, have substantially reduced. We have seen a decrease in the number of altercations on the side of the road. Essentially, we have cracked down on some of this behaviour around crash towing", and I ask: (a) is any data able to be provided to substantiate this anecdotal information; (b) is the Department undertaking any research in relation to measuring the impact of the towing reforms in relation to dangerous driving, numbers of altercations and the like; (c) if yes to (b), what work is being undertaken and can a report be tabled outlining the result; and (d) if no to (b), what is being done to monitor the rollout of the reforms in terms of the impact of the reforms on resolving the issues identified?

(a - d) The State Government is focussed on implementing further crash towing industry reforms to protect WA motorists.
The introduction of towing reforms has resulted in the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) now collecting data and insights into a previously unregulated industry. However, DTMI does not collect numerical data specific to the driving practices of tow truck drivers.
