I note that the minister is not in the chamber, but I am
hoping an answer has been provided.
I refer to the $750 000 contract awarded to Trench Health and
Fitness in February 2012 to provide wellness services—tender H0U2807311—to
the Department of Housing.
(1) Did the department renew the contract when it expired on
28 February this year?
(2) If so, what is the expiry date and value of the new
contract?
(3) What services does Trench Health and Fitness provide
under the terms of this contract?

question, which I answer on behalf of the Minister for Agriculture and Food
representing the Minister for Housing.
(1) Yes.
(2) On 28 February 2014; $250 000.
(3) Trench
provides a statewide comprehensive wellness program with the prime objective of
improving employee health through the provision of seminars, dietary advice and
increased exercise opportunities, with the ultimate goal of improved employee
welfare, reduced absenteeism rates and an increased level of productivity. The
program includes weekly exercise classes, annual healthy heart checks with
one-on-one advice, and skin checks with follow-up referral to an employee's
treating general practitioner if deemed necessary. The department receives
quarterly and annual participation rate reports to monitor the success of the
program and ensure that program objectives are being met with the ability to
review and vary components of the program if required.
