CANNABIS — POST-MORTEM SAMPLING
567. Hon Dr BRIAN WALKER to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I
refer the minister to recent research undertaken in Canada that quantified the
number of autopsies in which traces of cannabis were detected, both
before and after legalisation, as cannabis use can be tracked via post-mortem
blood sampling.
(1) How many road fatalities were
there in Western Australia in 2022?
(2) How many of those fatalities
led to an autopsy?
(3) How many, if any, of those
autopsies showed traces of cannabis in the deceased's system?
(4) How does that figure compare
with the figure recorded in 2021?
