refer to the Animal Welfare Act 2002 (the Act) and ask: : (a) how much funding has the Department of Agriculture and Food Western Australia (DAFWA) received to administer the Act in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015; (b) how many FTE General Inspectors were employed by DAFWA to administer the AWA in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015; (c) where are the General Inspectors in (2) based; and (d) what is the breakdown of how the funding in (1) is spent/allocated?

(a) DAFWA has not specifically identified the funding for the administration of the Animal Welfare Act 2002 (the Act). The funding allocated to the project principally involved in the administration and enforcement of the Act is set out below. The operating includes the $500 000 grant per year to the RSPCA WA. For the years 2011/12 to 2013/14 the funding allocated to the project principally involved in the administration and enforcement of the Act includes some general DAFWA investigation and livestock compliance activities which were removed in subsequent years.
2011/12 – $1 934 182 – made up of Salaries $1 250 092 and Operating $684 090
2012/13 – $2 012 971 – made up of Salaries $1 260 099 and Operating $752 872
2013/14 – $2 370 430 – made up of Salaries $1 521 903 and Operating $848 527
2014/15 – $1 905 938 – made up of Salaries $1 207 873 and Operating $698 065
2015/16 – budget $1 897 300 – made up of Salaries $921 280 and Operating $976 020
(b) The FTEs of general inspectors within the project that were principally involved in the operational administration and enforcement of the Act, as at August of each of the relevant periods, are set out in the attached tabled paper [see tabled paper no   ] .
