parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to plans for the upgrade of
the Third Avenue Bridge in Mt Lawley.
(1) What is the 2015–16
budget for all stages of construction of the new bridge?
(2) How much will
be expended in 2014–15 in the development of plans and consultation and
other preparation work for the construction of the new bridge?
(3) Who has been
consulted in the development of the plans for the new bridge and when were they
consulted?
(4) When will work commence on
construction of the new bridge?
(5) Does the
government have any plans for the installation of a new bridge over the railway
line at Second Avenue, Mt Lawley? If no, has the minister informed the member
for Mount Lawley that there will be no bridge at Second Avenue?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) The total budget is $10 649 634 and the 2015–16 allocation
is $7 500 000.
(2) It is $786 187.
(3) The Public Transport Authority, the City
of Stirling and the City of Bayswater were consulted during the last 12 months.
(4) It will commence by the end of 2015.
(5) The Third Avenue Bridge is located
mid-block between Second and Third Avenues. It is sometimes referred to by some
motorists as the Second Avenue bridge, as Second Avenue is the nearest
connecting road.
