BUNBURY–GREENBUSHES
RAIL LINE — LITHIUM MINING
1212. Hon DIANE EVERS to the minister representing the
Minister for Transport:
I refer to the minister's
response to my question without notice 458 on 13 June 2018 regarding the Bunbury–Greenbushes
rail line.
(1) What was the
outcome of negotiations between the Talison Lithium joint venture and Arc
Infrastructure on the rail task?
(2) Will the Bunbury–Greenbushes
rail line be returned to operating condition?
(3) If yes to (2), when will this
occur?
(4) If no to (2), why not?
(5) If an outcome
is yet to be reached, what is the anticipated time frame for negotiations to be
completed?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(5) The
government is not a party to the negotiations. However, it understands that the
negotiations between Talison Lithium and Arc Infrastructure are ongoing.
Whether the rail line will be returned to operating condition will depend on
the negotiations between Talison Lithium and Arc Infrastructure.
