TREASURY AND TRANSPORT
PORTFOLIOS
708. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Treasurer:
I have a supplementary question. Can
the Treasurer not see that her continued position as chief bean counter in the
state and also as the biggest offender in budget blowouts is indefensible as a control
measure?
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!

I hate to say it, but I am going to
say that this is quite a sexist question. I am going there. What did the Leader
of the Opposition say when Troy Buswell was the Treasurer and transport
minister? What did he say when Ben Wyatt held multiple portfolios? What did the
Leader of the Opposition say when the former Premier also held the state
development portfolio? To come into this house and allege that I somehow cannot
perform in a couple of portfolios is completely ludicrous and offensive. I like
the fact that I am a role model for young women across the state in being the Treasurer and delivering infrastructure.
I am proud of that role. That is the feedback that I get everywhere , as
opposed to you. Look at you!
Several members interjected.
Ms R. SAFFIOTI : Look at the
rabble! Look at you sitting there, just being destructive and negative. You
never threw that allegation at other male
Treasurers. You never did that. The same allegation could have been made. What you are showing is that you are stuck in the 1960s, and that is where you
belong!
