1205. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the minister representing the
Minister for Environment:
I refer to the proposed south coast
marine park.
(1) Can the
minister provide a list detailing the date, location and matters dealt with at
each of the community reference committee meetings that have taken place since
December 2021?
(2) Can the
minister provide a list of the planned meetings of the community reference
committee until completion of its role?
(3) What is the planned completion
date for the public consultation process?
(4) When will the draft boundaries, exclusion zones,
co-management arrangements and fisheries management arrangements, as
currently proposed, be completed?

I thank the
member for some notice of the question.
(1) The community
reference committee has met four times: 15 and 16 December 2021; 2 and 3 March
2022; 15 and 16 June 2022; and 31 August and 1 September 2022. Meetings 1 to 3
were held in Esperance and meeting 4 was in Bremer Bay.
(2) The CRC will
meet for the fifth time on 30 November and 1 December 2022. The CRC's
sixth and final meeting will be on 22 and 23 February 2023. Both meetings are
planned to be held in Esperance.
(3) The statutory
three-month public submission period for the draft indicative joint management
plans is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2023.
