I refer to the Spent Convictions (Act Amendment) Regulations (No. 2) 2024 , and I ask: (a) what was the catalyst for bringing about these amendments to the regulations; (b) who was consulted prior to these amendment regulations being finalised; (c) did any person consulted raise any concerns; (d) if yes to (c), what were these concerns; (e) in reference to (d), have the finalised amendment regulations addressed these concerns; and (f) if no to (e), why not?

(a) The repeal of the Firearms Act 1973 and commencement of the Firearms Act 2024.
(b) Consultation on the Amendment Regulations was not necessary as the amendment was purely consequential on the repeal of the 1973 Act by the commencement of the 2024 Act.
