I refer the minister to the resignation of Ms Marli Wallace as chair of the Heritage Council and ask - (1) On what date did Ms Wallace resign her position as chair of the Heritage Council? (2) What were the reasons given for her resignation? (3) Will the minister publicly advertise to fill the vacancy left by the sudden departure of Ms Wallace? Dr J.M. EDWARDS

(1)-(3) I thank the member for some notice of this question. Ms Wallace’s resignation takes effect from 1 July. She has resigned for what she stated to me are private reasons. I have had a conversation with her but she asked that that be confidential, so I will treat it in that manner. I will be advertising new positions, but in the interim I have appointed the deputy chair, Phil Griffiths, as interim chair for two months from 1 July to the end of August.
