TRANSFIELD SERVICES — HOUSING MAINTENANCE CONTRACT
I have a supplementary question. Given the value of the contract that was let to Transfield, in the order of $200 million, how is it that the minister can work out that any one of those projects will not exceed costs of $20 000? Is it surely not the default position that it should register itself? Mr W.R. MARMION

No. If an individual house that Transfield is working on has extension or construction costs of greater than $20 000, as specified in the act, it will need to be registered. If the member can provide me with an example of any work it is undertaking in excess of that cost, he can let me know.
