under Section 79 of the
Road Traffic Act 1974
, subject to the qualifications identified with each table.
(a) The following table shows the number of impoundments per year, which is an indicator of the number of vehicles impounded, however due to a number of unregistered vehicles and vehicles with unrecorded number plates there may be a small over count.
