As at 31 January 2020, the Western Australian Police Force has 6, 545 officers, ranks Recruit to Commander, which is an increase of 203 officers on the 6342 officers in 2016 as reported in the Police Annual Report. All districts are supported by units such as State Operations, Forensics and a range of other specialist units. The Commissioner of Police makes decisions to deploy officers to specialist units to better support the districts and provide a better service to the community. The Western Australian Police Force advise the following as at at 31 January 2020:
a. 6,545 Recruit to Commander
b. 6,393 FTE
