Authority's ''Inquiry into Microeconomic Reform in Western
Australia'' report.
(1) Does the Premier support the
establishment of an information and communications technology office within the
state government?
(2) If yes to (1), when will the Premier
establish a state office of information and communications technology?
(3) If no to (1), why not?

The government is currently considering the ERA's report and its
recommendations. The government has recognised that there is a need to ensure
that the value of the state's $1 billion-plus annual investment in ICT
is maximised. To this end, it has established a directors-general ICT steering
committee that is tasked with coordinating action on ICT matters across the
sector, including achieving savings while improving service delivery outcomes
through innovation and agency collaboration.
