I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Police.
(1)–(3) It is advised that the number of police officer
resignations/retirements is generally lower than in previous years. The
Western Australia Police Force undertakes exit surveys. The WA Police Force
advises that detailed information from the exit surveys is not available.
However, retirement is a common reason for resignation. The Western Australia
Police Force is funded for an authorised sworn strength of 6 350 officers.
