I refer to the State Government's shark deterrent rebate, and I ask: (a) Since the inception of the subsidy in May 2017, how many people have received the rebate; (b) What is the breakdown of rebates awarded for the Shark Shield Freedom device and the Ocean Guardian Freedom device; (c) Of the people that have received the rebate, how many were: (i) Male; (ii) Female; (iii) Under 18 years; (iv) 18-24 years; (v) 25-34 years; (vi) 35-50 years; and (vii) 51 years of more; (d) will the Minister please provide a breakdown of the number of rebate applications by postcode, suburb and electorate; (e) Is the applicant require to state what activity they intend to undertake while using the device: (i) If not, why not; and (f) If yes, how many of the successful applicants intended to use the device for: (i) Diving; (ii) Surfing; (iii) Fishing; and (iv) Other?

(ii) Not applicable.
(iii) The rebate application provides the following age range options: under 18 years; 18-24 years; 25-34 years; 35-44 years; 45-54 years; 55-65 years; 66 years and older. The number of rebates approved in each of those age ranges are:
• Under 18 years – 25 • 18-24 years – 138 • 25-34 years – 433 • 35-44 years – 523 • 45-54 years – 509 • 55-65 years – 302 • 66 years and older – 92
(iv) – (vii) Not applicable.
(d) It is not possible to break approved rebates down to an electorate level. This is due to some postcodes and suburbs falling within multiple electorates. It is possible to report on postcode and suburb/town.
