refer to the Auditor General report on Local Government procurement and ask: (a) Does
the Minister support the Auditor General’s view that findings from the procurement audit have identified areas worthy of future attention: (i) If
not, why not; and (b) Will the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries provide more funding for the extra audits: (i) If
yes, how much funding will be made available and when; (ii) If
not, who will fund the costs of the extra audits; (iii) Has
the Minister or any staff in his department informed
the respective agencies they will be funding the extra audits and when were the details forwarded; and (iv) Will
the Minister table the documentation advising the
agencies of the extra costs?

(a) Yes, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries proposes to work with local governments in addressing the areas identified.
(i) Not applicable
(b) DLGSC does not direct or fund the Auditor General to undertake local government audits.
