Question on Notice regarding the Albany Waterfront Marina project, specifically the number of boat pens planned for the first stage and the project's budget status. The Minister's response indicates uncertainty about the final number of pens due to budget constraints, but confirms the project is currently within budget, although some elements have been deferred.

ALBANY WATERFRONT MARINA — BOAT PENS
(1) Is the minister committed to providing a minimum of 74 boat pens in the first stage of the Albany waterfront marina? (2) If not, how many pens will be delivered in the first stage? (3) What is the current budget status of the project, and have there been any cost blow-outs or changes to the project? Hon WENDY DUNCAN

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. (1) The number of pens that will be delivered in the first stage has not yet been finalised. We aim to provide 74 pens, including pens for charter boat operators. However, this will depend on the cost of the pen construction when it goes out to tender next year compared with the overall project budget. (2) Not relevant, as final pen numbers have not been finalised. (3) The current status of the project is within the overall budget. However, individual elements—for example, the provision of granite—have meant the deferral of some minor elements of the project.
