(1) Through the WorkSafe Division of the Department of Commerce, the Government is continuing to build on past successes by assisting organisations in Western Australia to deliver improved and sustained safety in the workplace. This will be delivered through an appropriate mixture of assistance and education, and where appropriate enforcement action. In recognition of previous high incidence and severity of OSH issues, WorkSafe will continue to target the six industry groups of Agriculture, Forestry & Fishing; Construction; Health and Community Services; Manufacturing; Transport & Storage; and Wholesale& Retail. WorkSafe will be continuing its work with members of the community in the 2009-10 year and beyond to deliver workplaces in Western Australia that can be as safe and healthy as possible.
