(1)(a) There is a dedicated outpatient eating disorder service which is provided by the Centre for Clinical Interventions (CCI) funded by the Department of Health and managed by the North Metropolitan Health Service Mental Health (NMHS MH).
People with eating disorders can access public mental health inpatient and community services in the South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) for assessment and management where appropriate. These are not dedicated services for eating disorders in the SMHS, but part of the general mental health service.
For children and adolescents aged 8-18, the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services' (CAMHS) Eating Disorders Program (EDP) provides state-wide assessment, treatment and follow-up across a continuum of care. The CAMHS EDP provides support, consultation and training to other government and non-government providers of eating disorder support.
(b) Nil specific to this age group.
(c) The Child and Adolescent Health Service provides medical inpatient services with dedicated in-reach staff from CAMHS EDP for children and adolescents under 16 years old.
(d) A multidisciplinary working group from within Department of Health has been reviewing integrated hub and spoke models and patient needs. The modelling  provides information on Youth Eating Disorder mental health bed numbers for Western Australia based on the National Mental Health Services Planning Framework.
(2)(a) Yes. [See tabled paper no]. The report, along with other submissions, has been provided to the Mental Health Commission to consider as part of the 10 year Mental Health Services Plan. This plan is being developed jointly by the Mental Health Commission and the Department of Health.
(b) The report will be considered as part of the 10 Year Mental Health Services Plan process.
(3) The Perth Children's Hospital will have eight beds assigned to patients with eating disorders within the adolescent ward. These beds will be primarily but not exclusively used by patients with eating disorders.
(4) The Perth Children's Hospital will have 20 dedicated mental health beds.
