PORT HEDLAND DUST HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT

parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I ask this question on behalf of Hon
Stephen Dawson, who is out of the chamber on urgent parliamentary business. I
refer to the Port Hedland dust health risk assessment undertaken by the
Department of Health and the PremierXXX ###XXXs
response to question without notice 4 on 16 February 2016.
(1) On what date did the risk
assessment commence and when was it finalised?
(2) Who undertook the risk
assessment?
(3) Will the minister table a copy
of the report; and, if not, why not?
(4) If no to (3), when will the
Department of Health publicly release the report?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The contract
to undertake the risk assessment was awarded on 1 September 2013 and finalised
in December 2015.
(2) The risk
assessment was undertaken by Toxikos Pty Ltd,
toxicology consultants, a subsidiary of Pacific Environment Ltd.
(3)–(4) No.
The report is expected to be released on the Department of Health website in
the near future. I will table the report once it is available.
