PUBLIC HOUSING WAITLIST
198. Hon Dr BRAD PETTITT to the minister representing the
Minister for Housing:
I refer to the
wait turn and priority public housing waitlist.
How many
applicants and individuals were on each list at the end of February 2024?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question. The following response has been provided by the
Minister for Housing.
As of 29 February 2024, there were
19 976 applications on the public housing waitlist statewide, representing 35 660
people. This includes 5 216 priority applications, representing 10 189 people.
The number of individuals represented on public housing applications should be
read with caution given that individuals are often counted on multiple
applications. The Department of Communities advises that there is double
counting in this figure.
