Fremantle Traffic Bridge—Closure
621. Hon Dr Brad Pettitt to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the
planned closure of the old Fremantle Traffic Bridge in less than six months
from now and the Swan River Crossing's project website, which states that reducing
vehicle numbers on the road network is critical to avoid significant congestion
once the Fremantle Traffic Bridge closes, and it will take a combined effort
from all road users as well as people walking and riding bikes and scooters to
navigate this disruption. What infrastructure investments, policy initiatives
and incentives will be implemented to encourage more people to walk, ride or
catch public transport when the Fremantle Traffic Bridge closes?
