The rate of growth of children coming into care has dropped significantly over the period from 2008 to 2013. At June 2008, there was a 13 per cent increase of children in care from the previous year. In 2013, there was a 5 per cent increase from the previous year, which calculates to a 61 per cent drop in the growth rate of children in care when the growth rate of children in care in 2013 is compared to 2008.
