140 WILLIAM STREET - UNDERWRITING BY GOVERNMENT
I ask this question on behalf of the Leader of the Opposition.  I point out that this question has done the rounds.  I think it was referred back from the Premier’s office. (1) When was the last time the Western Australian government underwrote a commercial building development by offering a guaranteed long-term rental agreement valued at more than $1 million a year? (2) What was the address and name, if applicable, of the property subject to that agreement? (3) Is the minister aware of the adverse findings made by the WA Inc royal commission concerning property deals that were comparable with the sale of 140 William Street? (4) Will the minister agree to release the business case supporting the government’s role in the development of 140 William Street to reassure Parliament and the community that this deal is justifiable? I note that given that the question was referred from the Premier’s office to the minister’s office, those reading my copy of the question should read the word “minister” where the word “Premier” is used. Hon ADELE FARINA
