I thank the member for the
question.
(1) Yes, there were various
documents collated.
(2) No, I will not be tabling
those.
Several members interjected.
The PRESIDENT : Order!
Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN :
These documents were prepared for my contribution and that of my parliamentary secretary, which I would imagine is no surprise to anyone who has been involved
in —
Hon Martin Aldridge : He said
he prepared them.
The PRESIDENT : Order!
Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN : No,
I said there were notes prepared. What he was saying was that he was referring
to notes. What my parliamentary secretary said is that he was referring to
notes that he had prepared as an aide-memoire. That is exactly what he said and
I have no reason to believe that that was not 100 per cent correct.
As the member is aware, I rarely
read verbatim, and I certainly did not in this case, particularly when it is a motion from Hon Jim Chown because it is completely
unpredictable what wild and crazy directions the debate might go in . But
I did quote; I did read verbatim from one document and that was this
fascinating interview that Hon Jim Chown did for a group called Future
Directions International. I am more than happy to table that document that I have
quoted from.
