I thank the member for some notice of this question. The short answer is yes, if I receive an application. However, the long answer is as follows. My understanding is that the trial conducted in 2005 - that has been recently reported - has not provided adequate information to indicate that there would be merit in conducting a commercial trial. The company involved has applied to the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator to conduct a further trial in 2006, which I understand is somewhat similar to the 2005 trial. I have always supported the conducting of scientific trials and certainly would give consideration to a commercial trial after more comprehensive evidence is available and after the appropriate national regulatory approvals are given.
