WACHS has recently recruited two permanent midwives to the Gascoyne region. A Maternity Antenatal, Postnatal Service (MAPS) model has been implemented utilising these staff as well as centrally deployed staff.  A Gascoyne Maternity Service Working Group was established on 11 August 2025 involving local health stakeholders.
