YOUTH DETENTION —
INFRASTRUCTURE BUSINESS CASE
603. Mr R.S. LOVE to the Premier:
I
have a supplementary question. This is a matter of enormous public interest.
Will the Premier reconsider and release the business plan for the new
youth detention facility so that Western Australians know the plan going forward?

AnswerView source ↗

Part
of this plan is to fix up the errors of the previous government. When the
previous government saw the Rangeview facility close down, it basically
set alight a powder keg of tension and chaos that led to the riots. We have to
look at a new facility because of the mess that was created and left to us by
the previous government.
Mr R.S. Love interjected.
The SPEAKER : Order, please!
Mr
R.H. COOK : We will continue to
work on a new replacement facility for unit 18. That remains our commitment .
We will make sure that we get it right because for so long, particularly under
the Liberal and National Parties, we got it wrong.
