NATIVE FOREST — LOGGING — TRANSITION PACKAGE
772. Hon LOUISE KINGSTON to the Minister for Forestry:
I refer to the government's
closure of Western Australia's sustainable native timber industry and
the native forest transition plan community grants.
(1) Was a business required to
disclose its solvency when applying for the grant?
(2) If yes to (1), were any of the
grant recipients ineligible due to insolvency?
(3) Were any businesses that were
insolvent awarded the grant?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) The
community small grants are part of the $80 million native forest transition
plan and were open to support sustainable
projects that aim to stimulate the local economy, support tourism and events,
and build liveable communities in native forestry regions. All
applicants were required to demonstrate solvency as part of the eligibility
criteria when applying for the grant.
