I refer to the recent announcement that the Water Corporation
will cut 300 jobs.
(1) Will the
Minister for Water guarantee that none of these job losses will be in regional
areas; and, if not, why not?
(2) What planning has been done as to where these jobs will
be cut?
(3) What are the criteria for selecting the jobs to be cut?
(4) What are the locations where jobs will be cut; and for
each location, how many jobs will be cut?

objective of the Water Corporation business transformation program is to ensure
the business has the right-sized workforce to deliver services in an efficient
and cost-effective way. There may be some realignment of resourcing in both the
metropolitan and regional operations.
(2) The Water Corporation has a series of business reviews
underway.
(3) Business
requirements will be identified through a detailed and thorough review of the
operations of each business area.
(4) These are determined by the results of the business
reviews.
