Following the Government’s election commitments - (1) Through what process, and over what time frame, will the Government develop a sustainability strategy for Western Australia, and what are the proposed mechanisms for public participation in the development of this strategy? (2) Has the Government initiated the development of a code of conduct for agencies incorporating ESD principles into policy making and management practices? (1) The Government is currently considering how it will proceed to develop a sustainability strategy for Western Australia.  The considerations include the process, time frame and mechanisms for public participation. (2)-(3) No.  However, the code of conduct for agencies incorporating ecologically sustainable development principles into policy making and management practices is expected to be one of the initial matters to be addressed during the formulation of the sustainability strategy for Western Australia.
