(d – e): The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure does not monitor ongoing driver address and change of address records. Applicants for a Western Australian licence must show evidence of their residential status in Western Australia when applying for a driver’s licence, as per legislative requirements under the Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive) Regulations 2014 .
Western Australia licence holders are required to notify the department of any change to their residential or postal details, including for temporary visits interstate/overseas travel or employment reasons. Where clear evidence or information provided by the licence holder is that they are permanently residing interstate, the CEO Transport and Major Infrastructure may refuse to renew the Western Australian driver’s licence under these regulations.
