When a contract expires, that is the end of the contract. Ms Wookey’s contract was for an acting appointment for 12 months that expires at the end of this month. One month in advance, my chief of staff paid her a visit to thank her very much for a job well done, and to advise her that the legislation had been completed and was before the Parliament, that it was up to the Parliament to determine its fate, and that the government wished a different person to transition into the new arrangements when that was done. Several members interjected. The SPEAKER : I call the member for Nedlands to order for the second time.
