(a) Until 31 August 2012 the claim form for Metropolitan Expenses of members Representing Regions or Districts Therein requested that Members provide the metropolitan address for Section A / Type A claims, which are used to indicate that the Member maintained a residence in the Perth metropolitan area. From 1 September 2012 the requirement to provide the metropolitan address on the claim form was removed. Instead the Members notified places of residence are kept on file.
Salaries and Allowances Tribunal Determination Part 5, Section 5, does not require members to demonstrate where they stayed in the metropolitan area. Members are required to certify that they maintain a place of residence in or adjacent to their electoral region/district and that they were in the metropolitan area attending one or more of the parliamentary business matters specified in the section.
The Member has indicated a metropolitan address in Section A of the Metropolitan Expense Claim form, as requested, up until 31 August 2012.
(b) See tabled paper.
