Mr. Dean questions the use of public funds for a 'private airstrip' near Tjukayirla Roadhouse. The Minister clarifies it's a designated emergency landing strip for the Royal Flying Doctor Service, not a private airstrip, and its use is restricted.

(a) - (f) The infrastructure referred to as a "private airstrip" is not an airstrip at all, but in fact a sealed section of road with markings to assist the Royal Flying Doctor Service to land there in a declared mercy flight and it is illegal for a private aircraft to land on a road unless the aircraft suffers an emergency engine failure and there are no other options.
