parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to question without notice 888 regarding new cameras

(1) Was the 6PR ''Rumour File'' correct that
the cameras are for numberplate recognition?
(2) If yes to
(1), is the parliamentary secretary embarrassed that the ''Rumour File''
was able to tell the public the purpose of these cameras, when yesterday he was
unable to tell Parliament their purpose?
(3) Can the

decision to install them was made?
(4) If no to (3), do we need to wait for the ''Rumour
