Can the Minister please advise on the following -
(1) Why were the Road Trains, with permits issued to Mitchell Corporation, registered with a Queensland Registration, considering all the equipment was new?
(2) Why were they not registered here in Western Australia, with the stamp duties payable to the WA Stamp Duty Office?
(3) Were Main Roads WA aware of the full conditions relating to Queensland number plates being sent interstate, from Queensland, for initial registration?
(4) If Main Roads WA were not aware of the conditions imposed by the Queensland Department of Transport with regard to this type of registration, why not?

In view of the complexity and technical nature of the information sought, it is suggested that a more productive method of addressing the Honourable Member’s concerns would be through a meeting with senior agency staff. The Minister would be happy to arrange such a meeting at the Honourable Member’s convenience.
