UNDERWOOD AVENUE BUSHLAND
(1) Did the member for Cottesloe, the Premier’s then title, write a letter to the Minister for Environment in 2008 stating his opinion that the Underwood Avenue bushland site has significant environmental value and should be preserved, suggesting that the then government negotiate with the University of Western Australia with a view to acquiring the site and paying reasonable compensation, and asking that the then government consider the preservation of the area in its entirety? (2) If yes to (1), will the government now negotiate with the University of Western Australia with a view to acquiring the site and paying reasonable compensation, or provide reasonable compensation via a swap for land without significant environmental value? (3) If no to (2), why not? Hon NORMAN MOORE

I do not seem to have a copy of the question or an answer to it, but I would have thought that it would be inappropriate to ask a question in Parliament about the member for Cottesloe’s actions. If Hon Giz Watson can provide me with a copy of the question in due course, I will find out whether I can provide an answer.
