I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question. Notice was received on 18 October. The information is current at that
date. I doubt that much has changed in the past few days. The Minister for
Transport advises as follows —
The Liberal–National state government is committed to
providing better public transport parking solutions for the people of Western
Australia than the previous Labor government. The Public Transport Authority
advises —
(1) The Public
Transport Authority has sought expert advice on the possible development of the
car park at Edgewater station, which includes the airspace above the car park.
(2) (a)–(b)
The expert advice was provided by DTZ Property Consultants and discussions have
also taken place with neighbouring landowners regarding land rationalisation of
the area required due to the implementation of a legal decision. Further
discussions with the landowners and the City of Joondalup have also taken
place. These discussions have included some broad concepts on development,
although there has been no determination of the type of development that may
take place.
(3) Should it
be decided to develop the land, an open and competitive process consistent with
government procurement policies will be adopted.
(4) Not applicable.
