WYNDHAM HOSPITAL — OPERATING HOURS
758. Ms M.J. DAVIES to the Minister for Health:
I have a supplementary question.
Given that it has been more than 12 months since that hospital has had normal
operations, can the minister please advise a time line for the return to normal
operations?

AnswerView source ↗

I cannot give the Leader of the
Opposition a time line. What I can tell her is that WACHS is working intensively
to ensure that we uplift the staffing there. It is immensely challenging to
staff rural and regional areas across the nation right now. We have the most
rural and remote areas in the world in some instances. We have up to 800 sites
to staff. As the Leader of the Opposition well knows, it is very challenging to
maintain services in those very remote areas. However, we are providing
emergency access to that community, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are
absolutely focused on lifting that service back up to its normal service level
as soon as we can practicably and safely do so.
