Hon Peter Collier asks about the number of temporary protective orders issued and police escorts provided in family disputes/domestic violence cases for 2023 and 2024. The Police Force provided data on protective orders but couldn't provide data on police escorts due to a lack of specific incident tracking.

Again, I thank the Leader of the
Opposition for some notice of the question. The Western Australia Police Force
has advised me of the following.
(1) (a) There were 24 888.
(b) There were 12 360 as at 29 May
2024.
(2) The Western Australia
Police Force cannot provide a response to this question, as there is no
specific incident type to capture police escorts to accompany an individual
involved in a family dispute or a family violence issue in the police dispatch
system.
