On behalf of the parliamentary secretary to the Minister for Planning and Infrastructure, I thank Hon Norman Moore for some notice of this question. The Minister for Planning and Infrastructure has provided a response in the following terms - (1) The honourable member has previously asked for port authority strategic development plans to be tabled and should by now be well aware of the reasons I have not agreed to his request. (2) The port first advised of the proposed export of lead carbonate from Magellan in its 2004 annual report. This document has already been tabled. The lead exports were subsequently referred to in the strategic development plan 2005-06 and the statement of corporate intent 2005-06. There is no record or evidence of correspondence from the port to the minister on the subject of the proposed export of lead carbonate through the port of Esperance prior to the pollution incident. (3) Not applicable.
