I refer to question on notice No. 5557 answered on 14 June 2012 regarding the police database that may contain information pertaining to sex workers and/or brothels, and ask —
(1) Since 1 January 2009, what are the completion dates of audits conducted to track possible inappropriate access to sex worker data contained in the generic database?
(2) If a person whose information is recorded on that database has been granted a Violence Restraining Order against another person, is access to the first person's information as held on the database accessible by operational police and intelligence analysts who seek that information without any safeguards to protect the person's private address and contact details?
(3) If no to (2), why not?
(4) If a person whose information is recorded on that database has been granted a Violence Restraining Order against another person, is access to the first person's information as held on the database monitored by Western Australia Police?
(5) If no to (4), why not?
(6) During the 2010 calendar year, other than accesses to information reports created in that year, how many accesses relating to information reports relating to vice (vice move on notice, vice other, vice premise visit and vice registration) or prostitution, were made?
(7) During the 2011 calendar year, other than accesses to information reports created in that year, how many accesses relating to information reports relating to vice (vice move on notice, vice other, vice premise visit and vice registration) or prostitution, were made?
(8) During the 2012 calendar year, other than accesses to information reports created in that year, how many accesses relating to information reports relating to vice (vice move on notice, vice other, vice premise visit and vice registration) or prostitution, were made?

(1) There are no specific audits conducted on this group within the Western Australia Police Incident Management System. The system which includes data relating to all persons, including persons known to be sex workers, is constantly audited using software (Auditrack) and manual audits on a needs basis.
(2) It is possible that information regarding Violence Restraining Orders is held on the Information and Data Management System. However, information about Violence Restraining Orders is primarily recorded on another WA Police system. Access is provided to operational police and intelligence analysts throughout the agency based on position and demonstrated need.
